Better inputs reduce hidden assumptions and arbitrary safety margins. Attach this memo to an internal request or an integrator brief.

Scope
- What process or service must change, which sites and systems are included, and what is explicitly excluded?
- Who accepts the architecture and the final result?
Workload and growth
- Current users, transactions, data volume and peaks.
- Three-year growth, latency, availability, RTO, RPO and maintenance windows.
Existing environment
- Network, compute, storage, virtualization and backup diagrams.
- Versions, licenses, warranties, integrations, owners and known bottlenecks.
Site and operations
- Rack, power, cooling, connectivity and access constraints.
- Future administrators, monitoring, service desk, documentation, training and spares.
Procurement
- Budget range, target date, registry and certification requirements.
- Rules for equivalents, delivery stages, payment and acceptance.
Missing data is acceptable when it is marked clearly. The assessment can then close the real gap instead of rediscovering known facts.
